The legs for the header image are here. This is just a silly little hack to get them to display properly. Well done for looking at the code anyways :P

News

15th April

Hello-lo, seeing as Seal Cubs news about singles and albums and shows is snowballing at the moment, it seemed like a good time to do some spring cleaning. Everything should be a lot more up-to-date now and yeah we’ve finally got around to adding information on the not-so-new-anymore-keyboarder Jay Freeman which has been a while coming.

More news as it happens.

14th April

It’s not really worth me doing more than just quoting the band today.

after 2 and a bit years of squabbling, wrangling, back-biting and about-facing, we’ve finally got our album back… so, the much delayed debut album from the Seal Cub Clubbing Club, SUPER SCIENCE FICTION will be released this summer, 2008, no shit… here’s the tracklisting so far:

World of Fashion
Lone Planet
Aurienteering
IIIft of Air
Song For Haku
Slow-Motion Powerslides (In Dee)
Dawn Lamb
Made of Magic
pspm
Secrets

…we’re also going to release a new single on Boon(e) in the next few weeks… we’re off into the studio this week to record MADE OF MAGIC, which anyone will know who’s seen us at our last few gigs…

Looks very good indeed.

8th April

You don’t pay attention for a week and look what happens, bloody hell.

May has finally been released and you can buy it from iTunes or from here or from one of these:

Avalanche Records, Edinburgh
Avalanche Records, Glasgow
Jumbo Records, Leeds
Piccadilly Records, Manchester
Probe Records, Liverpool
Rough Trade East, 91 Brick Lane, London
Rough Trade Shop,130 Talbot Road, London
Spillers Records, Cardiff

So there is no excuse not to get it from somewhere.

There have been reviews about including a jolly nice one from Artrocker so hopefully they’ll do an SCCC feature in the near future, a pretty good one from Drowned in Sound and a scathing piece from the NME but seeing as they’re irrelevant these days, that’s of no importance at all.

A few new shows have been added in the near future and you should go to them. More here…

19th March

May

It’s pretty damn fantastic actually, well worth a listen.

28th February

The concert last night was terrific and included a superb world exclusive performance of the new single, May. Anyways, hopefully that will be out sharpish as it is rather special.

A rather tasty video for the song Tin Drum which shall be the b-side on the May single.

27th February

As I’m sure you’re all aware, the Seal Cub Book Club is a rather excellent club for reading and the like so you’ll be delighted to hear that there is now a super official Seal Cub Book Club Myspace. It’s not all literature and no musics though as there is a brand new song called Dangerous Men up for download on the new Myspace. It’s very new Seal Cubs, going to same direction as OVoidER which is definately no bad thing, so it’s looking good for the new single, May when it comes out any day now.

We’ve been doing a little spring cleaning around the place of late so hopefully links work and get you where you want and such now.

London gig is tonight so everyone had better be down for that!

27th January

We’re slacking again here but there has been more news released regarding the new single thingy.

The lead song on the single shall be a new number named ‘May’ so that should be super to hear. The launch party shall be at Islington Bar Academy on the 27th February so you’d better be there or be square (the SCCC book club theme for the night is detective fiction).

In other pretty gigantic news, the band shall be playing this years Glastonbury festival on the Leftfield stage which is pretty fantastic. No news as yet on about which day they will be playing but rest assured as soon as we find out we’ll probably write about it a few days later in a stream of other important news that we’ve been neglecting.

The site should be getting a good updating in the next week or so so yeah sorry for slacking.

Have a super day!

16th January

Sorry for another quote straight from Myspace but it tells you what’s going down.

as you may have noticed, it’s been a bit quiet round here…

that’s because we’ve been formulating a plan to get us out on the road again.

we’ll be announcing several BIG gigs over the next couple of weeks, including stuff in London, Liverpool, and other Southern destinations… We’ll also be announcing details of our first release since the World of Fashion single… so stay alert.

Also if you didn’t know already (I think we forgot to mention) The SCCC are performing at Islington Academy on the 27th February which should be a good un.
